我們腳下所見的這道壯麗景觀，即被譽為“連州梯田”的地理奇觀，其在地質學上被稱為“邊石壩”。邊石壩的形成，源于地表水的作用。這些梯田上的地表水，內含豐富的溶解鈣物質，盡管肉眼難以察覺其中的漂浮物。然而，由于此地水流速度緩慢，這些溶解的鈣物質逐漸沉淀下來，經過歲月的積淀，形成了這一層層宛如梯田的壯麗景觀。
